The Plowshare Farms CSA offers members a connection to the farm and farmers that produce the food they eat. In each weekly share, you’ll not only find the freshest seasonal produce, but also a deeper understanding of the rhythms of the growing season, and the bounty our region has to offer.
With over 100 varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs, and dried goods to offer, the Plowshare Farms CSA provides an ever-changing assortment of flavors, from heirloom oddities to well-known favorites. While most produce found in the supermarket has been bred to travel well, we have spent the last five seasons selecting varieties based on flavor. Our practice of remineralizing the soil, using natural fertilizers, and rejecting chemical pesticides ensures that the food we produce is as healthful and nutritious as it is flavorful.
We grow everything that goes into our CSA shares on our farm in Pipersville, PA, 54 miles from Philadelphia.
You can pick up our CSA on Wednesdays at High Street on Market in Old City and Good Spoon Soupery in Kensington; on Saturdays at the Rittenhouse Square Farmers’ Market and Primal Supply Butcher Shop on East Passyunk; or Fridays at Plowshare in Pipersville, Bucks County.
Our CSA season runs 24 weeks, from June 6th through November 14th. At $35/week, the total cost of a share is $840, which can be paid in full at the start of the season, or in three installments of $280. If paying in installments, the first is due upon signing up, the second on April 15, and the third on May 1st. In addition to vegetables, members can add on an egg share for $5.5/week. With additional egg share, total cost is $972, or three payments of $324.
To sign up, send a check payable to Plowshare Farms to 2967 Bedminster Road, Perkasie, PA 18944, or follow the link below to our PayPal page. Please include your name, phone number, pick-up location, and if you would like to add eggs to your share. The PayPal link will take you to a page that says “Donation,” but that is just so that you can adjust the amount based on your payment plan and egg preference. Your payment is not a donation, but an investment in a season’s worth of fresh, nutritious produce.
